I am a really a 'Nanna' having modelled myself on Nanna from 'The Royle Family' with the aim of having had to be such a responsible parent for many years I pride myself on being a completely irresponsible and wacky Nanna and consider that if I am not an embarassment to my family then I will have failed abysmally!

Don't forget my offer to those of you struggling for cash. For those of you making a day/weekend of it the area around the hotel is beautiful. Saltaire is a really historic village where all the houses are listed - look it up on the internet Sir Titus Salt.

There is a pub very close to the hotel too called Noble Comb and it has the 2 for 1 offer (its where we are all going for my daughters 18th on Saturday)

And dont for get Bradfords famous Media Museum which is in the centre of Bradford and is absolutely free!

Any questions about the visit, just ask.

Ahhh ... Dee ... isn't that a really nice offer!

That's why I thought I would book for the Friday night as well as then I can spend the Saturday taking a look around the area.

Hi Everyone

I am trying to talk myself into coming to this meeting, but I am not sure.
Not really very good at meeting new people although I would love to see all of you in person and thank you for all your support whilst setting up our IVA.
We live not too far from Bradford/Leeds so would be able to drive.

Oh ... dooo come ... they are really lovely informal evenings, chatty and lovely and Andy keeps us filled up with drinks whilst Melanie butters the bread for the sarnies.

If you ask admin to give you my email address and email me directly I will give you my mobile number and come and meet you at the door ... as I know Ang or Emma or Pixie would do likewise [:)]

Dooo come

Debbie [:)]

Thank you Debbie that is a very kind offer.
I think I am finding it hard knowing what to do as we are still getting used to the situation we have got ourselves into.
I know everyone there is in the same boat but as we have not spoken to anyone about this face to face, just on the phone and over the forum - to speak to people in person is scary.
I know I am probably not making sense to anyone (even to myself) but these are the thoughts going around my head at the moment.

I do understand what you mean, but the one thing I found comfortable was the fact that we are all in similar positions. Please come if you can and one of us will meet you first. I can talk for two anyway. I was so nervous the first one I went to, cant be bad, I am going all over the shop now and look forward to them.

Do try to go, it will do you the world of good, youre obviously feeling alone and isolated and it does make you want to run from life a bit. I can honestly say, if Ang and I hadnt agreed to meet up before the first one, I would have talked myself out of it and she said she would have also. We met each other in the station, we didnt know what each other looked like but we had a dress code. We hit it off right away, I felt like I had known Ang all my life. I have become a very nervous person since all this debt thing kicked off but these people are really the best, you will not regret it. Everyone I have met so far have been really lovely.

Take Debbie up on the offer, it only takes one person to put you at ease, she is very good at doing that.

At the second one, there were a lot more people and I was still nervous about it, mainly because my house was really upside down and I couldnt find anything but we had a great night and met Emma, pixie and debbie etc. It was a really lovely evening.

Thank you lili
I am slowly coming round to the idea.
I really do want to meet you all, I just feel really nervous about it.
I want my husband to come as well but he is more shy than me. He used to be ok after a couple of pints but now he can't drink because of medication he has to take. So I think I will be on my own!
Debbie I will take you up on your kind offer of getting your mobile number thank you. How do I get in touch with admin to get your email? **

email on its way

Please do come, I was nervous last time but it was a great relaxed friendly evening. Meeting up with Emma beforehand helped calm the nerves and it was the first time I'd really spoken about it to anyone face to face as well. Trust me you'll enjoy it and get a lot out of it.
I'm planning on arriving early to have a wander around and would be more than happy to meet up beforehand.

We've had a really good time at the meetings we've been to and I really wish we could come to this one - it's just that bit too far for us though!

leeds is ideal for me, would prefer it if it was a week night, but should be able to work round it, after all everytime i try to come to one of these meetings something else comes up instead.
