Staffs is in the Midlands. There is Stoke on Trent, Burton on Trent, Uttoxeter (Alton Towers not too far from there!), Cannock, Stafford, Lichfield.

Oh barb there will be one in the midlands soon, shame you cant come. It is a long way for us, but we dont do anything else much so its nice to go and visit different places. If you didnt live too far from the motorway or have your hol, we could have picked you up on the way and you could share the cost of a room with pixie.

Firstly Debbie - love the avatar, very appropriate for your new situation[:D]

I am not sure on this one yet, but will try my best to come along as I do enjoy the meetings. I would make more a day of it though this time and have a wander round Leeds or somewhere close to Bradford first.

I am off to Dublin with work this week and feel like I am going on holiday[:I] I have managed to tag an extra half day on before I need to work and almost a full day at the end[;)] so am really looking forward to it as never been to Ireland[:)]

Before my first frugal friends I was a nervous wreck but there really is no need as it was a lovely informal and friendly gathering with lovely people.
Someone will always be prepared to meet anyone nervous outside beforehand and welcome them, so if anyone is scared and apprehensive- don't be as you will have fun xx
Be positive & look after yourself, there are more important things in life than debts....

Best Wishes

It is a good night, meeting all of these friends in the flesh. I was quite nervous both times, although at the second meeting my house was sooo upside down, I couldnt find anything as we were moving rooms round. Do go, dont talk yourself out of it at the last minute, Ang and I almost did the first time.

Emma, have a great time I hope you manage to enjoy the hours you have off.

Cant wait to meet you all again.

Ooohh ... Emma ... a Frugal Friends meeting wouldn't be the same without you [:(]

Have a lovely time in Dublin ... green with envy!!

Like Ang ... I don't get out much so saving up to meet old friends and new at the Frugal Friends meeting is worth it for me and one of the only social aspects of my life!!! ... sad.

Indeed, today Mr C promised to take me to the garden centre to get some new pots for my summer geraniums (my favourite flowers) and then go out for a 2 for the price of 1 carvery lunch ... he didn't turn up ... rang up an hour ago to say that he'd fallen asleep in the chair! ... men! But then I did think that I sounded a bit like a Grandma, looking forward to going to the garden centre on a bank holiday! Have made some very good progress with my huge pile of marking instead.

Debbie

P.S
Sorry about the overly long link admin ... I just copied it from Ang's post.
