Yeah, quite a few greengrocers wear ties, with those beige-coloured overalls as well - aka G.G.G.G.Granville!! (ok, that's a general store, but you get the drift I'm sure!)

I like our Greengrocer - they sell fruit and veg at much cheaper prices than the big stores. I bought some Maris Piper potatoes yesterday - they were 68p in the Supermarket and 48p. in the small greengrocers. Also the greengrocers were cheaper for tomatoes and they also had some amazing Spanish Onions (huge!!!!). I dont mind what he wears as long as his prices are low and quality good!!!!!

We haven't got a greengrocers near us, so I walked (yes walked and it was freezing!) into to town to go to the market thinking it would be cheaper and tastier than supermarket fruit and veg. I was wrong! It was more expensive and it was all quite bland and tasteless - I was really disappointed as when we go on holiday we always buy fruit and veg from the market or greengrocer and it's much better. Must be the Dorset air!

Oh well, back to Sainsbury's frozen veg for me!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

Our local green grocers went a few years ago so I get from the supermarket most of the time.
Andy I can weigh a pound of sprouts as well without the scales, I worked for a mobile greengrocer as a youngster for over 8 years on a saturday, bit cold in the winter on the feet but I really enjoyed it. Oh gosh "when I was a youngster" dont I sound like my grandpa.

I must admit that this decade has seen a more relaxed approach by accountants in theirdress code!

When I go on courses now I notice that 2/3rd wear Ties whilst the other 1/3 wear casuals.

When I go out and meet certain people I dress formally but a lot of people prefer me to be informal so I go with the flow!

Mind you I am meeting a potential client next week and was told to dress in Jeans, a jumper, and to bring Wellies because they are on a farm!!!

Ray

I work in an accountants office, I am not qualified (passed AAT, and three intermediate ACCA exams), but I have been working in accounts for over 11 years.

Must admit, I have never been asked to go to a clients in wellies!! But, I have been involved in an audit on a farm and we were partaking in the year-end stock audit and were counting sheep in a field!!!!!
