Kerri - Taking a photo would be better but as I say they can check the information but they maybe more stubbon about it! If they ask how long she can stay where she is tell her to say that she and the children are roofless they will try every tactic out not to put her in temporary accommodation. If they refuse to accept her word for it tell them to phone the County Court and look on their own Council Tax reference for validation - Maybe she could get a note off the estate agent to say that the property is now under his instruction following repossession?
Good Luck

we are all going to scotland this weekend for funeral
update on monday hopefully

Kerri - My heart goes out to her and I will be thinking of you all this weekend.
If she can't make it on Monday get Nephew in law to go to the appointment and make the application on his own the legislation allows for another party to make the application. They can send someone to visit her (Although I doubt if they will volunteer this information!)
I really hope that that you all get through this weekend - Sending you love and blessings.

I am sory to mention this is it's not appropriate but what about help from Social Services or some sort of women's refuge? is this worth asking your local social services about. Also yor GP may be able to back you up in terms of the ffect it is having and the stress etc.I really wish you all well.

As Kerri's friend

She has had to take a step back as they have just had a death in the family and the mom in law isnt doing too good, its all a bit much for her at the moment, she has taken a trip to London to see mom in law. I believe another member of the family has taken the advice you gave ( and they are really grateful) and is taking it up with the council on the nieces behalf.
