I took out an IVA with Baines & Ernst in 2000, none of my debt was written off, they say this is because IVA was taken out before government ruling, is this true?

Hi Belinda

Are you sure what you had was an IVA and not a DMP (Debt Management Plan) ? It would be quite normal under a DMP for your debt not to reduce substantially.

Hi Belinda

What do they mean by "government ruling"? IVAs have been around since 1986! Bains and Ernst do not do IVA's, they have a separate firm called Blair Endersby who deal with that side.

I think that you do have a DMP - how much have you been paying per month and how much do you still owe to your creditors?
