Hi

I've posted on here before about a company called Synergi who was supposed to have arranged an IVA for us in 2007. We made 6 payments at their request BEFORE the IVA was arranged, the IVA was supposedly arranged in August and the 6 payments were to cover the 1st 6 months. Since then we have heard nothing despite numerous letters and phone calls. There is no record of our IVA ao it obviously was not arranged at all. We have complained to the Fiancial Ombudsman who are following up our case. As a result of this situation my husband has been made bankrupt which luckiy has not involved us losing our house (we have always kept up with the mortgage and there is not a lot of equity in our house). There are still outstanding debts in my name so I don't know what my next step should be. I would be grateful for any advice.

Hi
You could consider a debt solution for yourself, either bankruptcy an IVA or a Debt Management Plan.
What debt level do you have ?
By the way six payment and no IVA ever in place is simply disgusting and I hope that the FO address this

You should certainly seek advice for yourself to see what options are available to you and to protect your marital home. Bankruptcy, DMP or an IVA would still be options for you and the other issues could be dealt with a later stage.

We have spoken to the COO of Relax Corporation (current owners of Synergi) and he has kindly offered to look into your case for you. Please confirm that you are happy for us to pass on your name and email?

Thanks,

This is a dreadful tale, and I can only hope that the FO fully investigates the matter on your behalf. A representative of this firm do occasionally post on the forum, so they may spot this and be able to help.

I would suggest that you contact another insolvency practitioner to take advice from as to your own specific options. What a shame that this led to your husband's bankruptcy.

This is trrible and I do hope that the matter is resolved quickly.
There are still a number of options available to you and it is certainly worth investigating what solution best suits your own individual circumstances.

I hope you get this sorted out. Synergi have a lot of bad press on here but this has got to be the worst I've heard about.

Good luck xxx

Hi, i fail to see how this has been resolved! Twinkletoes clearly stated that six payments were made prior to an iva being in place, which surely cannot be right! (no mention off this in the arbitration process between iva.co.uk and relax). Whilst i appreciate that relax have responded, i fail to see how this matter has been dealt with appropiately and therefore cannot understand why it has been classed as resolved. I am not being pedantic here, and i may be missing some points,so please feel free to correct me if i am wrong in my thinking.

Having read the thread, I think it is down to Twinkletoes and Synergi to comment on.

Neither of them have come back on here to comment one way or another so I have no idea if anyone is still unhappy with anything.

Perhaps Twinkletoes can come back and tell us if the situation has been resolved to her satisfaction.

Synergi have assured us that the IVA was in place. Since we have been unable to talk to twinkletoes, it is hard to clarify. In the event that twinkletoes believes that the IVA was not put in place then we can reopen the case.
