Hi and welcome.

If you give a few more details with regards to the amount of creditors you have and the amount of unsecured debt you have and any assets you may have, then an expert will be able to advise you better.

Have a look at www.iva.com and read the reviews of various iva companies.
Steve.

IVA approved!

Hi stressed mum and welcome to the forum.

The best thing to do especially if your situation is complicated is to speak to an insolvency practioner. As steve says you can get reviews on iva.com and melanie comes highly recommended on this site.
Dont worry there is always a way forward.
Ask anything you want the forum is great for any quereis and support.

Hi there

Debt problems can cause an enormous amount of pressure on a relationship, and looking at the list of creditors that you have, and the amount that you owe, I seems that you will need to try and find some sort of solution - an IVA possibly being one option.

I suggest that you arrange to have a chat with an insolvency practitioner, who will be able to go over all of the options with you, so that you can understand the benefits and implications of each one.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

Hi again.

I am so glad to hear that you are clearer in what to do. The pressure is immense I remember it well.
I am sure after talking to Melanie and her team and getting more advice you will feel a little of that pressure lifted.

We are always here on th forum for any support and advice, lots of us have been through similar and know how stressful it can be.

Well done both.

Thanks Ang have not been able to concentrate in work today but in a sense I do feel better. The other day I felt I was the only person with this problem, the thing is I have only been in this situation since having my children (the oldest nearly 5) with being on maternity leave and then having my youngest close after my second I have'nt worked much something which I have always done. I know this is the only way forward and I don't want my children affected ie lose thier home, once things are under way Imight be able to sleep again! Have opened a new bank account and transfered all my utilities dd's ect so another positive thing xx

You arent on your own by any means. My head was well buried in the sand for many years. I just wish we had done something about it earlier.
The main thing to do now is to feel positive about the fact that you are dealing with it.
Keep posting and let us know how things go.

You will find a lot of support on this forum, Stressed Mum, from the experts and regular posters, and I can promise you that you will never feel alone again.

These guys are brilliant, and can I suggest that you read a few of the blogs where you will find some inspiring stories of how people like you have confronted their debt demons, and come very successfully out the other side with perhaps a little help along the way.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

To Stressed mum: What type of NR loan do you have? Is it a stand alone unsecured or a Together Loan? List all of yours and your husbands debts separately indicating which are joint (if any) Next what is your house worth? Is it in Joint names? What is the current mortgage and are there any additional secured loans on it?
With this information appropriate advice can be given. Rest assured posters here will stand by you and help you - you are not alone. Chin chin.
