So I got a new job. My existing one is on a two year contract- so wouldn't cover the last year of the IVA. The new one is premenant.
Unfortunately this means re-locating from Manchester to London. I say unfortunately, as our rent will be £1000 p.c.m alone!
Also unfortunately my partner will have to give up his existing job and find another, as I have until the end of May.
Luckily we have a relocation package offered by the company I will be working for.
I've already taken a 3 month payment holiday to buy a new computer- which is essential to my work. It was just a cheap one, but I'm glad I have it.
Now with my partner having to give up his job to relocate and London's sky high prices and me having to support us totally financially until he gets work and is paid- I don't know what to do.
I don't want my IVA to fail and I can't take another payment holiday- as I believe you're only allowed one.
Once everything settled down we'd be fine- but it won't be fine until he has work.
I've waited 3 years to get this job and not going is not an option- as my current contract is not premenant.
What do I do guys! [xx(]
I feel like I'm moving to the moon. I do love the capital- but this is madness!
Arrange a full review of your iva and see if anything can be done based on your circumstances.
Try living outside of london but on a commuter route .... for instance travelling in from Bedfordshire would cost more on travel but living costs would be less ... a two bed housr/apartment to rent would be 650 ish and it takes less than an hr on the train

If you are determined to make this move, then you will need to advise your IP as to what effect this will have on our income and expenditure. It may be possible to take a further payment break, with the agreement of creditors, but I would suggest that this may only be successful if you can demonstrate that the need for the break is only temporary.
I have spent most of my adult life in London ,before moving to West Country then to Scotland, as with any city it has good and bad. But there is certainly a variety of things to do. Suprising even in the centre you can still escape to a little quiet corner of a park.
Might sound like a crazy idea. But is it any better/cheaper commuting from Manchester to London? A lot of poeple do it and trains run direct Picadilly to Euston on a VERY regular basis
