If I was given the choice I'd still rather have holiday - I on;y get 22 days a year so any extra helps!

I don't get the opportunity to work overtime other than two or three bank holidays a year - I used to get paid for those, I now take them as holiday as I prefer the time off.

I'll plod on with my IVA as it is. As long as I can pay back at least the original dividend, that will do for me. I prefer to spend the time with my family.

We paid in 50% of my husbands IVA during our first year - but really started to struggle due to having a really low budget set by the IVA company. But they have stated only when my hubby earns over so much - then we have to pay 50% of whats left. Shame that we were not informed of this at the beginning n they still will only confirm it in phone calls n not in writing!

The company my husband works for has taken it out of hour hands now - they sent a letter this year stating no pay increases this year & any over time had to be taken off as Time Owed for this coming year. Hubby only get double time for bank holidays now & not for the hours he goes over on his salaried pay ;-(
Still great full that he has a job though x

Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

I'm very fortunate that we had a three year pay deal agreed last year, so I know my wages will be going up.

Sorry that your hubby is having a pay freeze Mrs K, and that his overtime has stopped. Not good when you are struggling in an IVA. Let's hope your IP will let you perhaps lower your payments a little when it comes to your review.

Thanks Jan,

No the overtime stopping is not good but last year my hubby worked 6 days a week over 6 months so we paid alot over to the IVA before they said he could earn so much before the 50% clause came in. We didnt manage to save our half with being set of with such a low budget, which i saw red n asked them to sort it out & also made a formal complaint about the set up of our IVA, as its was just terrible as Melanie has put it when I posted our I&E. Still was told to fit our budget to able to maintain our payments - so it alittle better but still struggling - trying to get through it! Some how!
Hubbys health has had a turn for the worse n been going to doc for over two years wiv probs n finally they decided to look further into it!
He has been sent for MRI scan n Endoscopy & Colonoscopy tests n waiting to hear results.

Lyns, I hope hubby gets some good results from his tests. The last thing you need now is this on top of the problems with your IVA.

I'm glad that you are managing to get through it. It's not good if you are struggling - I hope you manage to continue keeping your head above water (if you follow my meaning!)

I really do feel for you, and I hope that your IP is a bit more lenient at your next review.
