I am currently 16 months into an IVA with a company called Haines Watts. At the time of entering the IVA I had unsecured debts of approx £62,000. I am in the unusual circumstance of owning HALF of a property with my mother; the value of the property being £110,000, My monthly salary is £1653.00 and I pay contributions into the IVA of £612.00. I have various other outgoings which means that things are still tight each month, but not to the previous extent. However, each time I get a pay rise or do overtime 50% of the extra income is taken by the IVA.

My main concern is that I have not yet had one sucessful quarterly review with this company. Each time a review takes place, a mistake is made and I have to point it out to them, receiving a written apology straight away. As a result of this I am becoming more and more dis-illusioned with this company and want to know if it is possible to move the IVA to another company or am I legally bound to Haines Watts until Completion? Your help in this matter is much appreciated.

Hi
It really is almost impossible to change Ips and the cost involved would make it not worth it.
You are doing the correct thing in keeping them on their toes and yes you shouldn,t have to but I think the problem is that once your IVA is approved the month to month administration of it is done usually by an office clerk and I guess this is where your problems lie.
If the problem is persistent then I would write a letter to your IP and state that unless things improve then you will write to their governing body for advice.
My own IVA company used to send corrospondence to a previous address despite two reminders from me of my new address. My previous address belonged to freinds, as I had rented it from them, they probably know all about my IVA !!!

It is disappointing that you are experiencing such difficulties, but Haines Watts are a reputable company and I am sure that they are embarrassed by these issues.

Keep continuing to point out any inaccuracies in the reviews, and as Neverending says speak to your IP directly if things do not improve.
