Offers submitted to creditors....

Finally we're at the stage where I have now made offers to my creditors to hopefully settle my debts. My family very kindly stepped in and offered to help clear my debt as I was facing bankruptcy and the best option for me was to make lump sum offers myself.

So after looking through mu income and expenditure the offers have gone in at 40p in the £... I'm hopeful this will be accepted as my disposable income didn't amount to much once calculated and the alternative is obviously the BR route which is what I had been expecting.

Hopefully they'll be in agreement as the phone calls are never ending at the moment and the stress is really getting to me... fingers crossed!

Good luck simon i hope everything turns out wekk for you.I know the feeling of stress im going through it myself! At the end of the day you are doing your best to get out of your financial difficulties,so hold your head up high and think positive!

Thanks Jue... well things are certainly a lot better than they were now that the offers have gone in as my creditors can now see that I'm making the effort to resolve the debt... will wait to hear they're reaction over the coming days / weeks!

Yes we are Oliver... my Uncle is facilitating the whole thing and prefers to take this route... I understand this may prove to be a lot of extra work but by the sounds of things he is happy to do this and has the time also, as do I... or atleast we'll both find the time!

Do some creditors not enter into discussions with the debtor themselves then and only speak via an IP? I have 5 creditors although I have two accoutns with two of them i.e. o/d and loan, and card and a loan.

I was more referring to the difficulty of getting all your creditors to agree to your proposal. Five creditors could be manageable. Hope your uncle has the patientce and persuasive power needed to succeed.

Simon, keep trying and make sure you send off everything reg/recorded post. You can also refuse to discuss the situation verbally, change your phone number, offer to reply to any correspondance, it just takes the pressure off and the people who phone for a payment are not usually aware of the offers anyway and many are work on a commision basis.

You can also ask them all to reply by a certain date, set out by you in your offer.

I hope this works for you. If you settle anyting, make sure its in writing.

They will respond to you and they will get a better dividend this way also, if you go into an IVA 5-7K will be lossed in fees.
