Nobody should worry that their pence in the pound is less than joe bloggs offer as iva's are based on affordability in each individual case. Its your IPs role to ensure the best offer is made and it isn't good business sense for them to waste creditors time with silly offers. Trust your chosen company to do the right thing.

Paul

I am to the point where common sense is through the window. 3 to 4 hours sleep a night and nightmares when you are asleep - no good! Just keep reassuring us please!

Hi Everybody.
I am new to this forum although I have been lurking in the background for quite a few weeks now and 'spying' on all the threads religiously. I am in the process of an IVA and I just sent my signed forms for my proposal back yesterday.
@ Lem. I am in completely the same boat as you at the same turn in the road by the sound of things. We will be offering just 17p/£1 and I, like you am very concerned about this, but will keep faith in my IP. Best of luck to you :)

I think it is more about what you can afford to pay back rather than the dividend at the end of the day. bearing in mind that the monthly payment may well go up over the years anyway thus increasing the dividend anyway.

So long as your offering the best you can afford, trust your IP. I doubt very much they would bother putting it forward if they did not think it would be accepted.

Also if your creditors are going to get more back through the iva than in bankruptcy I would think they would jump at accepting it.

Hi Paula, hang in there, things are moving forward for you, you'll get there! try&look after yourself. I didn't sleep well either &when i did nod off i had nightmares about creditors beating my hubby up-couldn't escape it even in sleep! sleeping much better now the meeting is over.

Judo&Paula, nothing to feel frightened of here,i found this place a real lifeline while waiting for IVA to get sorted.our figure was below 20p too so keep hope!

HI Judo and welcome from myself too, glad you've finally plucked up the courage to post and hope you continue to do so.

Lem, Mel knows her stuff and wouldn't put together something she didn't think had a chance, hang in there and try not to feel guilty as at least this way your creditors will get something. Add to this the fact you don't know what the next 60 months will bring so there may be uplifts from payrises or a windfall that may make that p in the £ higher and if there is no increase then it will still have been accepted so rest assured you're doing everything in your power to address your situation. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
