Amazing how sympathy goes out of the window then isn't it?
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt
The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.

I used to unplug our phone, I told my mother it was playing up and to ring on my mobile. We are thinking of buying a caller display phone when we can afford it. I am coming to the conclusion that I don't want to speak to anyone unless I know who it is.
I changed my home number but the calls on my mobile are relentless! I know it is stupid but I just can't face talking to them, I am so embarrassed. My partner takes all his calls with relative ease and all creditors he has spoken to to date have been polite. My mobile is set on vibrate so as to avoid the "mummy why dont you answer your phone" questions!
pog don't worry, we're all different and I guess I enjoyed it in a weird way to tell them I was in the process of proposing an IVA and be able to dictate Melanie's contact details etc.,
From what is said by the professionals on forum it bears absolutely no relevance to the outcome of an IVA whether we talk to them or not so you carry on doing what you're comfortable with and hoepfully it won't be long till they stop.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
My friends dont actually work in a Debt Recovery department but I was just pointing out that however personal we take these calls....once they put the phone down they forget it and move onto the next customer. In reality we are but an account number to these agencies be it when applying for a loan or being chased for not paying.
I dont relish the calls at all but reading some of the experiences on these threads I'll be well prepared for my first one. Only going to release my number, rank and name or should I say Melanies number, rank and name lol.
I came into this world with nothing and still have most of it left!
Skippy I used to use that tactic when I didnt want to speak to cold callers.....never failed as your correct "YOU" have to give them your details, Data Protection laws restrict the caller from continuing the call or telling you any details...so stalemate in our favour!

Just spoke to Barclaycard. The lady was really nice, I explained my situation and that I had written to them with details of my IP. She said she would put a hold on the account for 2 weeks.
2 weeks reprieve from Barclaycard then! phew!
