Melanie very much agree....an utter nonsense.

I eat my hat.....Barclaycard just rang again trying to get money out of me asking me all sorts of questions. Like a dog with a bone, telling me about IVAs like I don't already know what the process is and how long it will take and that charges will continue to be added to the account...duh, am I dumb as well as in debt!

After speaking to N Rock yesterday (twice) in the morning I assumed I would also get a bit of breathing space also.....but at 5pm got an automated message on my mobile which eventually put me through to the call centre, where I was again expected to explain my case.....so I just hung up!

Creditors may tell you that they will put your account on hold - as you have seen, this doesn't very often happen.

Be prepared for a lot more calls.

Barclaycard are big fat liars! Two more calls on my mobile today...didn't answer them....rose tinted spectacles well and truly off when it comes to them and in the scheme of things, I owe them £750, whch is small beer compared to the rest.

I'd just unplug your home phone Cath and don't answer your mobile if you don't know who it is - my home phone's been unplugged for 3 days and none of them have my new mobile number!! Did get quite a few letters today though - just ignored them! x

Hate to say it Cath, but I did warn you.

They will not give up, and they are one of the worst.

Their letters usually come in very fetching shades of red!

Yep kallis, you told me so, phone will not be answered....I know their number now! I know for a fact that they don't have the number where I work, the only one who has this is MBNA and I haven't heard from them yet. Sainsbury's phoned hubby's work a couple of times but they seem to have gone quiet.

I never used to answer the phone to them either. My mobile was set to have the same ring tone as my messages, so no one knew it was a phone call and I had the number saved so I knew who it was.

You will probably find that they will go quiet for a few days, to lull you into a false sense of security - then they will start again.

I'll get the girls where I work to tell them that I don't work there anymore and they don't know where I am.

Excellent idea. Should stop them contacting you at work.

Well, thanks to my shiney new filing system, I have gone online and deleted my phone numbers from MBNA....hopefully that will work.
