Hope they update their records and no further contact via phone Cath, some don't give in but don't let it get you down, it'll all work out in the end.

I would like to think they would take notice, but from past experience it is unlikely.

I have just been so rude to the person that rang me just now from Barclaycard. I ddn't let him speak and told him that I'd already informed the company of my position and that I didn't want to speak to them and that my account was meant to be on 14 day hold. He tried to give me their number but I told him I didn't want it. How rude I have been but they are doing my head in!

Cath, our Parish Priest gave my husband a phrase in Latin to say to Barclaycard - Caro putrida es. The translation is You're dead meat!. My husband only said those words to Barclaycard - it worked after a time! J

I think it's each to their own but I would never be rude to anyone in latin, english or any other language. I did have a script which I kept to and would diverse from but it was always polite and always said in a calm manner.

When you are told to have your animals put to sleep to pay them that may even make you say something that you would not normally say.J

I didn't swear at him, I was just plain speaking my mind, I guess it was similar to your script Lesley cos you just kept on reading and I just kept on speaking as if I had a script! That's the last time I answer the phone to them unless I have had a really bad day!

Did they really say that to you? Barclaycard seem to be the nemesis of many people in debt. I refuse to get into conversation with them as I tried that the other day and was treated like a village idiot!

I didn't speak to mine, but I'm afraid if I had have done so and they kept hassling, then I wouldn't have been polite.

It did help getting BT Broadbank Talk with a second number and being able to unplug the other phone.

Yes they did and a lot worse such that Melanie had to intervene with the people who reprsent them. Mercers are also 10 times worse if you get invloved with them>J

Mercers are one of the worst creditors to deal with.

Hopefully the calls will decrease soon Cath - there's loads of tactics you can use, I think it depends on what mood you're in when the phone rings.

It made me laugh when they use to warn hubby his credit rating would be affected [:D] As if this was going to make him pay!

Best advice I can give, is to have your phone on silent / unplug it.
