I am the same, since realising I was in trouble, I put a jumper on instead of the fire, turn off lights - and menu plan and have started cooking like catering sytle and freezing them, so when I am on a lte shift, I can defrost something - rather than going to the chip shop / pizza place like I previously did. also I try not to go around shops at weekends and at lunchtimes!

I got excited at buying a new set of kitchen scales the other day. £3-99 at morrisons!!! My god how times have changed!!

If in doubt as to whether you really need something the walk away and mull it over for 24 hours. If you still need it after that then fair enoug!!

Must admit that I will still buy stuff - just not the expensive things I used to get and usually when I need it. I've family birthdays at the moment but I'm afraid it's stuff of the market and from Asda!

Hubby has always cooked large portions of things but we don't menu plan and I do take Asda ready meals into work with me. They're cheap enough and tasty and I do get a meals allowance.

Since seperating from my ex, I went through a stage of only eating ready meals, (hence why my housekeeping budget was so shot!, however after I realised I was in trouble financially, I hada Dr's appt for my "well man" check, well I went and I have a really high sodium content in my body - I don't add extra salt, but after talking, we believe it is from all the ready meals etc - so I have no option now - I can't eat them, funnily enough, my dad had a stroke a year ago, and he had a high sodium level as well, so may be generic?? who knows....

I didn't have a ticker when I was in my IPA but I used to change the months on my signature on here every time a payment was made. I changed it daily in the last month!

Clee, there was a programme on TV a while ago about the rubbish that goes into ready meals and I haven't eaten one since!

I sometimes buy ready made meals when we haven't time to cook from scratch and always wish I hadn't when we've eaten it!!
Although I do get WW meals for lunch sometimes and they are passable (as a light snack!!!!)
