I don't know if they definitely will do it. I'll see if I can find the post and bump it up for you.

If Natwest are doing this, I would presume they are doing it the same way as HSBC - trawling through the insolvency service register.

I would think that if Natwest are going to close your account they would have to give you 30 days notice at least.

Anyone can look at the insolvency register, but very few people even know it exists. It's on the insolvency website - www.insolvency.gov.uk

Is ThinkBanking the only one that offers a Maestro card, because I sometimes need to pay for things online. Thanks.

I don't think anyone else offers a Maestro, although I haven't come across any major problems with my Co-op Visa Electron when I've bought stuff online.

Hi Skippy, do you think that the Co-op would give me an account even though they are one of my creditors being included in my BR? Long shot I know!

I've also got a Virgin pre paid card in case the Electron one isn't accepted. It cost £9.95 and you pay 2.95% fee when you use it. I only use it occasionally so it might be cheaper than my other pre paid card which costs £1 per use.

Thanks for the warning Melanie!!! Seems like Think Banking are my only option because I think most of the banks that allow undischarged bankrupts are among my creditors!!! Ho hum....
