Good Luck Kerri

This how it went, the OR rung dead on the dot :-),

House is valued at 84500 - less the mortgage of 76000 we would have to find that amount of equity to keep the house which is impossible so the house will go, we now need to find alternative housing which i will start today.

The car is valued at 4500 approx however the finance is 3800 outstanding the OR will not make a claim on the car as there is no financial gain it will be down to the finance company now whether we will be allowed to keep the car so will have to wait and see on that one. However i was told that the OR do not have to allow any money to continue with the payments,

As for making payments that is £0 as there is only £80 disposal income available. This time i made sure that i put all my expenditure down correctly.

Other than that is went ok, we had to explain why we had obtained the credit and what made us in a position that could no longer allows us to continue with payments etc, was told off for some credit that we obtained knowing that we were already struggling but i could not give any excuses and eccepted it.

So now we can make a fresh start it was the right decision for me to go BR but it had cost my family their home and that is high price to pay for my spending and something that i have to live with, but a lesson i will never forget and will never in my life time ever obtain credit.

I would like to thank everyone on this forum for their support and kind words

Take care

Good News i have phoned the finance company and as long as i keep the payments up then i can keep the car, so apart from the house which is hard to accept then my new life begins now, after nearly 16 months of worry, stress, arguments and tears it is all over, thanks for your message lily.

Coco,

I sold my house before going into my IVA and now rent. It was a real low point emotionally but you do recover.

Going through the process made me realise it's family and friends that matter - everyone has been supportive and although I've got no spare money now for 5 years I'd rather have them than all the money in the world.

Wish you the very best in the future.

hi coco bet you are glad that bit is over, your circumstances are much the same as mine, they did say today i would have 1-2 yrs in the house not to worry about being thrown on the street, they also said with the car they can offer me a payment plan to pay the extra off the value, i had never heard of that before, it will be more clear for me next week, hope you find somewhere you like and it doesn't cause to much distress to the family.

good luck for the future and congratulations on getting this far, no going back now only forwards.
love kerri

Hi Coco
Sorry to hear about the house. Like kerri says you can usually stay put for up to a year as I understand it.Would that be an option or would you rather find
somewhere else now whilst you are making the fresh start?

The important thing to remember is that you no longer have the burden of debt hanging over you and you can sleep easier at night knowing nobody is going to call you ten times a day trying to squeeze a payment out of you.

Best of luck for the future.

Dave
Regards

Dave

I really feel for your loss of your home coco, but you can now move on and as hard as it will be walking away you have your dignity, you did everything possible to secure your familys home and were turned over,by that trash company, but you will find harmony again for you and your family.
I wish you the best for a wonderful warm future.x
