there is no change after ED i am still the same and struggling, it still bares a mark on your life because you think about it all the time, i have been lifted of the BR still waiting to hear about the house it just doesn't go away, its with you every sleeping and waking moment, did i do the right thing? yes i did no one knows, but me!!
and hubby we struggle on every day, hating ourselves for what we have done and hoping it will have no outcome on our kids but you think this all the time, wishing it hadn't happened to you!!

yes we are debt free, but not free from the torment of what BR does to you , knowing when you leave your home you can't buy another loads of other things that run through your mind anyhow i will leave now got to be up early to sell my junk lol love to all

Thanks for all the advice Mish and the liked the bit about the golf made me laugh. But you have now made me realize it does not matter what problems you have there is always a lighter side to everything. i may just do that golf thing, the only trouble with that I will have to walk 2 miles to do it, as there are no buses, and without transport, well you understand.

Bit of good and bad news today have had a phone call from OR's Agents about my goods. Firstly have manage to secure the computer for £100 so i will be keeping that. As for the car they reckon it will fetch £500 in the auction so an offer under that will not be excepted. I have made an offer of £500 for it as I will not get one cheaper in the condition mine is in. They are coming on Thurs 29th to look at the car, and i will know then whether I will be able to keep it or not. And have managed to stall them till next week for payment of the car if excepted. As for the golf clubs, video camera, and Digital Camera they are definitely gone. was told that the camera could fetch up to £250 - £300 in auction as it was worth around £800 new and only 5 months old.

Things are looking a bit brighter now, although losing my camera will not be nice, I will have to save for a new one next year so I can continue my hobby.

Regard Mick

Ah ha, a two mile walk .. perfect .. if a round of 18 holes takes 4 hours, you 'll manage the 4 miles, wallop 100 balls for about a fiver, and walk home, bonus you get the exercise, hit 100 balls and it'll only cost a fiver .. who hooo [:D]

Seriousely tho' it's about trying to get into a good positive frame of mind , trying to find some fun in life and staying solvent.

Good luck with the car, I guess that Del boy has a lot to answer for .. the daft things are cult cars [}:)] Theres some nutter out there running one with a suzuki hayabusa engine - 180bhp , and a lot of folk use the rear ends as donors to make custom trikes, ruddy bikers eh ! [:I]

Cheap photography.. well get a notepad and a pencil... nooo dont draw , use your puter to see if you can find a cheapy digi cam, usb connect to the PC and learn to digitally enhance them ... should take hours and weeks to get it right.

Me .. my hobby is sorting out somewhere to live, as my wee hoouse is about to disappear, being IT ish I tend to spend hours on this thing, trawlling the web, plotting and scheming ..

Already have a digi cam, but prefer a SLR camera to take photo's I love to take all types of subjects, but best of all wildlife and Macro photography.

Here is a link to some I have taken http://www.photogalaxy.com/photographer/upinsmoke/

Have a look and enjoy.

So the loss of the camera will be missed. But will get another next year for sure. I am determined to make sure I can carry on with my only real hobby and I needed to secure my computer to do it.

Wow upinsmoke! I just had a quick peak at that website and some of the photos are truly amazing. You are extremely talented. Im sorry that the OR has decided you cannot keep the camera but like you said hopefully you will be able to get another one soon.

The photos on your website are brilliant!

This is just a thought, but if your camera is going to be auctioned is there any way that someone could put in a bid for you? Just because they think they are going to get a high price doesn't mean they will - I read about someone who had their laptop taken as the OR said they could get £500 for it but when it went to auction their dad bought it for £100!

As I said, just a thought.

Thanks for all the kind comments about my pictures. I will miss taking them for a while, but will bounce back in 2008. Skippy I have thought about getting a friend to bid on the camera equipment. Unfortunately my two good friends are helping me already so cannot ask them for any more help. But thank for the suggestion anyway.

Will just have to do without for 3 or 4 months. Christmas is on its way and need to save some for that. Will be hard this year to make ends meet but at least I will make sure my Emma (Daughter) will be ok.

Little info on the picture of the cat if interested. Cats name was Toby, no longer with us died this year. Took the picture in colour and then converted to B/W and re-coloured the eyes in to get this affect.

I still think it is hideous that you are being treated like this, for being honest in declaring these items on your forms. For every honest applicant, there are ten others who have plasma TVs, digital VCRs, Satelitte eqpt, computers, HiFis etc which are not declared.

That camera will fetch next to nothing at auction, but it means the world to you. At a time when the OR is deliberately allowing people to keep 50% of their disposable income, when in an IVA all of it is taken into account, I am beginning to wonder if I need to take a career change. In 22 years of being in the insolvency world, I have never heard of anything as unfair as this.

I totally agree Melanie. Mick is beig penalised for being honest, which I suppose is easier for the Insolvency Service than tracking down those who aren't honest, as short of home visits for everyone who goes BR there is no way of checking what people have.

I must admit Mick's honesty has made me feel bad - I didn't declare my camera or CD collection. I wasn't with holding information, I just considered them everyday household items. Saying that, the camera was replaced by another model soon after I bought it and most of the CD's can be found in Woolies bargain bin!

Mick, you will get through Christmas this year, and next year it will be easier. I bought my Christmas cards yesterday and was cross at myself as I hadn't bought them in the sale last year, but then I remembered that last Christmas I was in an IVA and was really struggling. Don't get me wrong, I'm not exactly loaded now (the cards were 3 for 2 with a further 20% off in WH Smith!) but I can manage and I'm actually looking forward to this Christmas.

Good luck Mick, and please keep posting - we all have some idea of what you are going through x

I hope you don't mind Mick but I loved the picture of Toby so much that I've got it as my wallpaper on my PC!

Not at all by all means use it.[:D][:D]

Getting back to honesty I too have a CD Collection and some DVDs but like Skippy I just considered them everyday household items. Where do you draw the line, there should be a list of what is allowed and what is not, to be declared.

What do they consider every day items these days. Most households have the usual TVs, Computers,Video,DVD, Games Consoles, CDs, etc etc. They seem to allow Mobile Phones but to be honest these are not essential Items for everyday living. But then again if Mobiles are allowed then so should Computers as these are used for communications, paying bills, ordering the weekly shopping, and getting Information for example on this site. and are much more usefull than a mobile phone, they also cost less to use than a mobile.

I really don't know the answer to these problems, perhaps there should be a level playing field for all. At least that way, whether its BR or IVA you know where you stand.

I agree, it's hard to know what you should declare and what they don't need to know about.
