Hi, can I ask how much detail did the OR go into your bank records and credit cards statements? Did you have to account for every purchase and deposit? And can I ask when did you last use your card before you filed for BR? If it was near the BR date, did he question this? Thanks.

I found the OR was more interested in the loans than the credit cards, although there weren't any really big purchases on the cards, unlike the loans!

I was in an IVA for 4 months and the last time I used my cards was in July/August last year - that seems strange to think I haven't had credit for over a year!

Do you know how the OR's would view gambling debts of about £1500 (I owe about £60k in total), I went through a phase where I played online poker and didnt really realise how much I'd spent until I recently looked through my statements! What would the OR do if he could see you'd spent that much on gambling?

when you fill your BR forms in there is a question on there asking if any of the debt was incurred due to gambling be honest, as gambling isn't the main cause of your debt i don't think the OR will be too judgemental on it, they may ask if you have sought help on the gambling and what sites that you used. but at such a small amount i don't think they will be harsh on you.

I totally underestimated how much I'd spent, I think I put down about £400 - 500! Will the OR then think that I'm being dishonest because I didnt declare all of the debt at the time? Will it then mean that he would closer at all my accounts and spending?

when you have your OR meeting just tell him you think it could have possibly been more than you put down, be honest with him from the start so he doesn't need to call you back and question why you hadn't put the full amount down in the first place, i really think you don't have anything to worry about.

Ok thanks. Just don't want the OR to think that I'm being dishonest or not facing up to reality!

Dont't know what's wrong with me today - head in a mess! I posted a reply to my own question that I didn't even post!!!! Make sense to anyone - me either!!! Just remembered that I've got an Egg Savings Account (that obviously I haven't used for a while - savings long gone!!! [:(]) I didn't put this account down on the BR forms - should I ring the OR office, or just send the account statement and wait until the phone call? As my previous post - don't want to appear to be hiding anything from OR! And does anyone know if Egg would allow me to keep this account? It's just an internet savings account, so no overdraft, card etc, and as I'm going to be living on a budget I need a separate account to save for things like car tax and insurance (if I get to keep my car that is!)

Leave it until your interview and mention it then. If there is no money in the account then there is nothing really to worry about.

Hi

Just an update for those interested. All is going well, have the redemption statement from the mortgage company and am just waiting for the written valuation from the estate agent (OR requested another as I mentioned the one for the IVA was on condition some work was carried out) then i need to get these forms off to him so that the BI can be calculated.

I had a call from the OR yesterday concerning my car, he says my valuation of 2.5k is about right (they also use Parkers online) however would need the auctioneers to come out and do a site valuation, he just wanted to let me know that he was passing my number to them. He then called back to say they wouldnt need to come out but would submit an online valuation as a site visit would incur more costs.
However just to clarify, in my area the car allowance is 2k but the car must be worth over 3k at auction to be worth selling due to the costs and to leave something towards the BR estate. If it comes back that the car is worth a lot more than 2.5K, the car will be sold and they will give me 2k back to purchase another.
(hope this makes sense)

All paper work for my shares has been sent to OR, which are the only other assets to deal with. So hopefully not much longer and everything will be resolved and I can finally move on.

Take care all

Pippa
