Hi Nicola. Are you in an IVA Nicola. If so I would contact your IP very quickly as without work I'm assuming you're not earning and thus not having the money to pay the IVA.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

If you are in an IVA do as Lesley suggests as your IP could probably sanction a payment break to help. However, if they do not know what is happening there is danger of a breach.

Hi Nicola & welcome to the forum,

Im so sorry to hear about your car problems, If your in a IVA I would call your IP/IVA company as soon as possible.
Explain whats happened & see if they can help in some way, you may be able to take a payment holiday.
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

when taking a payment break is suggested is this just your monthly payments say for 2-3 months?
as i see it that wont help a lot of people who get into the car repairs senario as the op stated it would cost £2800 to fix.
now if like me your monthly payments arnt particulary high this would not be of any use.
if you depend on the car to get to work and there are no other means of transport would longer break as in 6 months likely to be accepted?
as i see it no car no work no iva and nobody wins
cc received 6th January 2014 now upwards and onwards
