Hello everyone, been lying low for a while but i've just rang the Court and my BR date is booked for the 10th September at 10am, I really need it to be earlier as i'll have the funds by the 3rd but that's the earliest they have. Feel totally stressed that i'll have to hide from nasty letters and the fear of someone banging on the door for an extra week but that's how it is.
I have asked them if there is a cancellation to ring me but I doubt there will be, just want this out of the way now for my sake and more importantly for my family's.
I would just like to thank you all for your help when i've asked daft questions (im sure i'll continue to do so!) over the past few weeks. you have helped no end.

Good luck Katy. When I went BR it really wasn't as bad as I expected. Everyone treated me with sympathy and understanding and I felt so relieved when I walked out of the court. It might be worth giving the court a ring yourself in case there is a cancellation - if you don't ask you don't get!

Thanks Skippy. Panic question but they will definitely bankrupt us wont they? Would there be a reason the Judge wouldn't? I feel like i'm going insane!

I totally understand your panic! My date is 30 August!

I have a very silly question: what do I wear??????????????????????????? Don’t want to look “too posh” or like a tramp!

I can't see any reason that they wouldn't bankrupt you Katy. They would only do this if you said you hadn't taken advice or if they felt that you didn't understand the implications of BR.

Jane, I felt exactly the same! I was going back to work afterwards so I just wore my usual black ensemble. The advantage of that was when we had to sit in the general waiting area I blended in with the solicitors! I would just say wear whatever you are comfortable with.

All the best Jane and Katy. I think semi formal wear would be appropriate but I wouldn't worry too much about this.

Best Regards
