Just been to fill up - Tesco's is 82p a lite for unleaded ! Can't believe how cheap it has got considering not so long back it was nearing £1.10 a litre ......let's just hope our IP's are sensible when reviewing our I&E's and don't expect us to pay extra - as this just goes to show that things can change extremely quickly !
Still the car tax changes in April for some people will cause a significant increase so the saving on fuel now might be counteracted by this !
My car went for an MOT this week - advice to all is shop around - three garages all told me the standard MOT was £55 - however all three garages then said they would do it for £30, £35 or £37.50 - guess which one I went with ! Yes the £30 one - it passed and I got the MOT cert so it just shows that even those things that we all presume are a standard price aren't and we can get some good deals !
car servicing is another - don't go to large manufactuer garages - your service book and warranty can be stamped by any approved garage - Vauxhall wanted £250 for hubbies service - local garage did it for £140 !

We do the same with our Skoda. We (well, parents) have just paid £160 for a full service with a local garage that deals purely with the VW Group. With the dealer it was £240! Our MOT is £30 and is done at an MOT Station, rather than a garage that does MOT's. That way we know that we are not going to be ripped off for unnecessary repairs.

I'm lucky that my friend's boyfriend is a mechanic and he serviced my car for £100 last year. I don't trust garages, so with him doing it I know it was serviced properly.

The cheapest petrol round here is 83.9p per litre, and the dearest I put in back in the summer was 122.9!
