I got my IVA accepted on Wed when should I expect my paperwork to come through, Also when do you make your first payment does it take a while to set up. Just need to know as I am in a DMP at the min and cant afford to pay both in the same month. Dont want to cancel the DMP and then the IVA take some time to set up and have all the phone calls to start again.

Hi Nat - our paperwork (Chairmans Report) came through within about a week but as I understood it you are 'in' and IVA from the date the meeting takes place and you are approved?? I could be wrong there.

We were told we had to make our first payment within 30 days of approval but not sure if that is same for everyone? Sure an expert will be along soon to say for sure [:)]

IVA approved Aug 2008 - 6 year term - last payment made 6 Oct 2014. CC received 14 Nov 2014.

I would cancel the DMP payment. Creditors cant do anything now your iva has been approved. It will probably be a while before they receive any money anyway. Your first payment should be made within 31 days of your IVA been approved but your IP should have discussed this with you.
Steve.

IVA approved!

You should definitly cancel the DMP payment. You don't need to pay it any more.

If you get calls from the creditors, just tell them you are in an IVA.

They cannot touch you now.

Your IP should issue you with confirmation paperwork within 4 days of the creditors meeting.

Hi Nat, we discussed the date for our second and subsequent payments during the call when we were told that our IVA had been accepted. We had already made our first payment pending it being accepted. Our paperwork came through within a couple of days of the meeting. Kazzy x

Ah right I will wait and get my paperwork then see what happens just dont want to find myself short with the DMP and the IVA going out, Might be to late to cancel the DMP going out this month so the IVA could come out of my Sept pay. Oh god i just want it sorting now so i can start paying.

STOP the DMP payment - you are now covered by the IVA so why pay DMP and IVA ..........ring the bank now and cancel the D/D - they can cancel it over the phone and it takes immediate affect !
