Well I have a direct debit for gas board cover of my boiler. It's always been there pre IVA and now.

It's never been in my I&E because I was told creditors won't accept it. So I pay for it out of my other allowances and that's left up to me.

I honestly think checking statements is only to look for undeclared income. They only will be interested in extra money not less.

I think any type of popping a few £'s away that suits you to make next year a bit easier is a good idea. I bought love 2 shop vouchers through park for many years and it worked well for me, this is my first year of not doing so.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Thanks Lesley.
Theyre used in a good selection of shops that we would purchase from and i know i'll feel better about christmas knowing weve saved for it. Weve done 2 christmases now within iva and with 3 children its tight but they loved it and and we are much more thoughtful and careful about what we buy.

I withdraw all my money on payday, except for the obvious DD's and what I spend with my money is my choice, as long as my IVA payment is sent every month and there's no uplift or pay increase (which I would declaire) then stuff em ! I'm abiding by my IVA and that's that.

I also do park vouchers but give the cash to my wife who has the DD coming out of her personal bank account which as she is not in an iva its a nice hiding place :-)

I used to do the same ---- I actually had a collection of pots I put allocated sums into (Housekeeping, petrol, car tax, etc).

Even now I keep one account running into which my pay goes and all of the DD's etc come out of. I leave enough in there to cover these and the rest goes into a second cashminder account, from which I spend as required.

I read that before I think Foggy.

I've just realised you mean literal pots. Cash in pots in the house?

Great idea [:)]

I actually used a coffee jar for the housekeeping and one of those money boxes with different compartments for the other categories.

It's so fab when the vouchers come ... feels like you've not paid for them (daft I know but true) and makes the Christmas shopping that bit more enjoyable [:D]
