Hi all, i have posted a couple of times, but i just wanted to say how glad i am to have found this forum, i am nearly a year into my IVA, and like many of you have found some months very hard, and it is lovely to know where to go to see that i am not the only ones going through this!! Anyway to my question....

I currently have an iva which i will have had for 1 year on 3 July (gone very quickly!!, so i am due for my annual review very soon. The IVA is in my name only, but as i have a joint mortgage with my partner his salary was taken into consideration when my I&E was filled in. My partner will be working abroad in a couple of months time, and i effectly will be living as a single person, so i was just wondering how this will work on my I&E? My partner would like to put half of the money for the house bills (ie mortgage, council tax, gas, elec etc) in our joint account every month, and save the rest of his wages. so i would be paying half of the house bills, the housekeeping (although it would lower as it is only me), car and iva would be left for me to pay. I can afford for him to do this, but would this be allowed as his earnings come into effect on my IVA? But as he wouldnt be living there he would really be paying me "rent" and the rest of his wages would not be available to me.

Sorry for the long post, I will be taking this up with my IP when my partners leaves in a couple of months, but i just wanted some opinions on how this would work?

Thanks
xxxx

Hi
If this is for only a couple of months, and your payments are unaffected, then I would not trouble your IP but just carry on paying

Then you do need to discuss the implications this may have on your finances, and ultimately your IVA, with your IP.
