Miles dont sign the SO then they cant take any money. Then wait for the creditors meeting or call other companies. Reputable ones will want to meet you face to face too

Write in and ask for it, I dont know if your new IP would be able to get this for you. It really is a shame that you have trusted this company. There will be a way to move forward with another company, even if you have to get copies. If you say you do not want to deal with them anymore, I cannot see why they would not send your stuff back. They may try to keep you with them as you are paying such a high monthly fee.

good luck and keep posting

Miles,

Please read my blog, this is what happened to me and the figures kept creeping up until the point that i could no longer pay and now BR i paid this company almost 4k for nothing and i garantee you it will take at least 5 months i was told each month the meeting will be held soon we just need this doing etc. (i was at the point of now return due to not paying creditors any money for over 8 months) and i am convienced they took so long to ensure that they had a certain amount of money before the creditors meeting which you would almost never get back if it failed. I am still waiting after 5 weeks for them to return my paperwork which they say they dont have and remove me from the insolvency register as seeing my name on there with them as my IP company makes my blood boil.

(I apologise for my keyboards poor spelling and grammar)

Miles, please walk away and don't pay any money to Synergi. They have caused so much distress to others on this site, and I would hate to think of anyone else going through this.

Please contact some of the companies who post on this site - they are all reputable and will be able to advise you. Good luck.

Thank you all for your advice. I have spoken to Thomas Charles this morning who are so much more professional. I have rung Synergi and told them I am no longer going ahead and they have promised to return all paperwork.
Still worried about the two month delay but hope their may be some light at the end of the tunnel.

Miles
Even with losing two months you will probably have your creditors meeting sooner going via Thomas Charles than if you remained with Synergi

Hi Miles
Just wanted to agree with all the posts, you will get much further much quicker, at least all your paperwork is ready this will save a lot of time and take no notice of the crditor phone calls its par for the course, but unpleasant to put up with. Glad you were caught in time.

All the best

Hi Miles

The advice from the other posters are correct - stay away from synergi and keep bugging them for your paperwork. By law ( if you need the reference let me know) they have to return it to you. You can issue a letter to them stating that you wish to have your papers returned to you within 7 days of reciept of your letter. Make sure that you send your letter recorded delivery. If they do not send them back, you then have a civil case if you are willing to take them on. In my opinion, companies such as these should have no right to conduct business, nevermind act on behalf of a third party.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

I cant praise Thomas Charles enough, I spoke to Phillip Hunt and he was very helpful and was always there to talk to, right up to my meeting date, they used Wilson Phillips as my IP and my IVA was accepted first time after about 10 weeks. they both seemed to always know about my case, and I did not just feel like a just another number in their list, unlike some IVA companies

Cheers, Mark.

IVA accepted, so 60 months to go!!

My one bit of advice, if I can do it, so can you!

Mark,

Congratulations of your IVA being accepted, I’m sure a great load of pressure has been released.

In regards to miles' case it is unfortunate that there are companies out there like Synergi that are hindering people who have debt problems rather than helping them. Thankfully it wasn’t too late to change companies.

This is why it really is so important to talk to at least 2 or 3 companies first before going ahead with an IVA.

Hope this information is of use

I faxed and posted my letter to Synergi on Thursday asking for my paperwork back. I was not expecting to recieve it easily. Amazingly most of it has been returned this morning (Saturday) by registered post.

Maybe they are not quite as bad as every one makes out.
