Hi Helen,

I feel terrible that i've finished and you haven't even had a phone call yet.
Don't despair - as the other lovely people have said - hang in there - the end will be here sooner than you think. I've not been celebrating - to be honest im one of these people who worry and get all worked up so im expecting something to go pear shaped even though hubby keeps saying that ive heard it from the horses mouth that we're done. I got to the point where i felt like throwing in the towel - expecially when the kids wanted something and i'd be making all sorts of excuses as to why they couldn't have it. I'll message tomorrow to see how you are hun xx

I'm glad you're feeling better this morning Helen, and never, ever apologise for having a rant or a cry on here. You've had more than your fair share of bad luck, and I'm sure Declan will be fine.

We started our IVA in 2006. We made two payments of £1000 each to thomas charles, which I think was for them to help us prepare paperwork to pass on to an IP and for advice on our situation.
Our proposal was then to make 62 payments of £900 to meet a minimum of 31p/£.
I presume the £2000 we paid to thomas charles was totally separate from the proposal but have since wondered why it cost us that much for their help and advice when it would cost a lot less for someone with less debt/disposable income for the same.
Had we gone directly to an IP would the £2000 have gone to our creditors instead?
We were certainly glad of their help at the time and more than willing to pay for the service, just wondered if this still happens now.

I made the same mistake and paid Thomas Charles 2 payments up front before my IVA went through.

Knowing what I know now I would have gone straight to a IP and saved those two "Instruction Payments"

Still I was in a big hole back then and just glad to see a way out of it.
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.

You don't need to make payments upfront, but some companies do charge you for assistance with the paperwork.

You need to make sure that you know what is going to happen with these payments.

The companies do the initial paperwork, so they will want paying for that.

If people are happy with that service, they should go for it.

Helen - I hope you get your phone call.

I have a feeling that Declan is off this week as well, so I doubt he will be on to help.

Hi Guys
I'm in!. I have the spent the whole morning trying to access the site but it kept getting blocked due to a security threat.
I am using IE now instead of firefox.
I have just emailed Helen and she will get a call in the next few minutes. The last thing I want is for her to have to go through another day of uncertainty and annoyance and hope to get this resolved asap.

Thanks

Sorry Declan, for some reason I thought you were off this week!

There has been a problem with the site over the weekend, but IE seems to have been fixed.

Hopefully Helen hasn't gone to bed yet.

Hi Helen
Congratulations on the birth of your granddaughter. I hope they are all well and healthy.
With regards the phone call, I hope it helped and you know where I am if you do have any queries.

Now get a good nights sleep!

Thanks
