I am in the fourth year of an IVA with Payplan and for the last 12-months had nothing but hassle as I could not remortgage my property; the case officer at Payplan was useless and just said I'd propably lose my home. Without the help of this site, and in-particular Melanie, I'd have probably taken their poor advice and been homeless by now.

Hello Melanie, this is where I am at the moment: sent a letter of concern to the IP and this was passed to a complaints department. They called me at home and assured me that I would not lose my home - however, they could not guarantee that the creditors would accept my proposal. Weeks have since past (9-to be exact) and I have emailed them to say that if a draft proposal is not with me by the end of this week I will have no alternative but to complain to their governing body. Within hours they have replied and said that I will have the proposal by then. Yesterday I emailed them to ask just how long it takes to draw up a proposal, what the procedure is and to give me some sort of time-scale as I am fed-up of this hanging over my head. I also mentioned that they have breached the contract by 3-months; as yet they have not responded.
So I am more-or-lesss in the same position ... and thank's for asking for the update - could do with a bit of moral support at the moment!

Thank you - and in answer to Saz: I have to be honest and can only speak from my personal experience of Payplan, which is to advice you to beware. They appear to be okay when things are going well, but I have to constantly chase them for any response and action. I will update this forum in a seperate post; look out for it as it might help you to make up your mind. In my opinion, I suggest you go with Melanie - I know I would not hesitate if I knew then what I know now. Good luck with your IVA, it is a long hard slog, but remember having a decent and honest company to support you will make all the difference.
