Hubby has just had annual review. They upped the payments by about £15. We signed the forms and I logged on today to check the amount payable next month and nearly died. The payment has risen by over £100. If I hadn't checked my online account we would have total been in a mess and would not have managed to pay our mortgage (comes out the same account). I don't normally look at it but just checked to make sure they had received our papers back. I am really upset that if I hadn't spotted this it would totally have messed our finances up. I have emailed them to find out what is going on.

It could be a simple error, but simple error's when your finances are strictly budgeted can be disastrous!

Hope you get it sorted ASAP.

You need to get this resolved before they call their direct debit otherwise better to cancel it and make a card payment for the correct amount. Let them know that you need an answer urgently otherwise this is what you will do.

You could try and speak to your IP but going by other posts this would be a waste of time.

Agree with Michael make sure they correct this before it comes out or it will leave you short...better to make a card payment and set up a new dd once the error is put right.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I am with Payplan & make payment by Standing Order so no danger of them taking too much - do you definitely pay by Direct Debit or is yours S.O too?

Mines standing order too. Didn't realise till today. So that's lucky. How long should it take to update the figures on the payplan plus site. It still says too much at the moment and I spoke to them at 9am. He said they would change it.

Payplan only take standing order payments or card payments - they never do direct debits - so it is up to you to make sure your standing order is the correct amount. Don't worry about what is on the payplan plus website - use the figures on your review letter. Payplan plus sometimes messes up payments because it will show additional amounts from overtime etc as part of the normal payment, and sometimes the computers just don't talk to it properly and the automated system makes a mistake. If you have any concerns about anything on the payplan plus website then you can ring your case officer - however they do not use Payplan plus to determine how much you are due to pay, they use the internal system that they actually do the review on so if there is a mistake on Payplan Plus it will not affect your payments.

If it is standing order then you will need to amend the payment by £15 yourself. Hopefully as others have said PP may have a system that is onlibe to track but is not straightforward.
I would check to see if DD or SO first and if in your gift change the amount and if DD I personally would cancel the DD and make card payment until issue resolved
