That's not good jan. Prices have hiked anyway. Surely you should be able to extend at the end. The more I hear the more seems to me payplan are just making it up as they go along. How could I reduce for a year but you can't defer a month?

Payplan don't appear to allow any arrears to pass from one year to the next, whereas most firms will allow an extension to make up for missed payments.

This is just one of their policies I do not agree with, which is why I, personally, would not use, nor recommend, them.

Lol! Yep rough ride doesn't even touch the sides. That's what I am saying. They seem to make it up as they go along....like my kids say "u can't give to one and not the other " there should be clear policy I guess..awful to see people go through the mill due to bad practice

As a forum it is good for people to see the rough with the smooth especially as it gives some people courage to stick up for themselves and not get exploited further whilst already low down to start with

We've just had to fight for a payment break and have been told it cannot be added on at the end but has to be made up over the next couple of months.

We will have to find the money from somewhere.

Did they give a reason why it can't be added at the end? Have you already had a payment break?

I would look at the terms of your IVA, mine was 60 payments over 70 months. I did have a small payment break a couple of years ago that I haven't paid back in full. This is allowed to be paid as a 61st payment but I intend to pay the difference on the 60th payment. I think there has been different experiences for many people and maybe this is what payplan is trying to rectify thus new procedures. In the end it will make things more fair but obviously will effect those who have had little involvement.

No, they just said it couldn't be added and no, this is the only payment break we have had in almost four years.

Hmmm I was under the impression that you can have one authorised payment break for up to 6 months without the creditors having to authorise it pending you paying it at the end of the term. If you are struggling and its essential expenditure can't they look at reducing payments by 15% short term to ease the pressure?

We've got a few issues at the moment which we need to get sorted in the next couple of months. There is nothing in my paperwork which mentions a break of that long but we won't need that anyway. It was to pay for essential boiler repairs.

Essential boiler repairs in the winter are most definitely a priority and if its a safety issue we're talking about you and your families lives here Jan. I think you need to keep fighting for a payment break for this if you have never had one I can see no reason for them to deny you it, it's completely ridiculous :(

They have given us the break, we just have to make up the deficit over the next couple of months. It just took us a while and several emails to get agreement

Was it your actual IP who denied you adding it to the end of the term? You will struggle to pay it back over a few months surely
