Hubby had a letter today from Payplan. We thought it was just a follow up from their call yesterday.

Turns out it was a letter returning some payslips. The surname and initials on the slips were the same as hubby's - but that's where the resemblence ended! This one works in the prison service elsewhere in the UK! My hubby is retired!

We immediately rang Payplan and they have told us to return them (which we were going to anyway), and they apologised. How bad is that though? I know this persons salary, where he works and everything!

Blimey, thats scary isnt it? I know we all make mistakes but with this priviledged information they should check, check, and check again. I think they chose a very trustworthy member to disclose to though, what if the were actually a relative that you actually knew, with the same surname? Talk about letting the cat out of the cul de sack, eh??

Yes, it could have been someone we knew who didn't want anyone to know.

Good job it was someone miles away!

Yes, makes me wonder whether ours did a detour before landing on our doorstep.
