I have been very lucky to either not recieve phone calls or managed to avoid them but reading them on here stuns me every time. The bullying tactics that they take when talking to people that when they know that they are vunerable position.

I am convinced that if the people calling were not comissioned based and armed with proper facts life everybody would co-operate more. The fact that customers are either are in IVA means that they are willing and wanting to do something.

Thank goodness we have this forum to have to let off steam, arm ourselves with facts and read others experiances.

I wish you both good luck with your creditors meetings.

We didn't get any calls from MBNA but were getting calls almost every hour from Halifax. I got caller ID from our phone provider and just didn't answer the phone when their numbers came up but then they got mymobile number from somewhere and so i just rejected their number on my phone so it never let them through. It's stressful enough when ur going through all this without constant harrasment but i found that once a creditors meeting date had been set the calls just died off and havent had any at all the last 2 weeks

Well just a quick up date ... my IVA proposal has been accepted by my creditors today!!! whoooo hoooo [:)]
MBNA gave up their harassment about a week ago, but did send me a letter 'setting out my options' should the IVA not be accepted and stating that 'these options' would only be availble until tomorrow. Glad I wont need them as they added £500 on to the quote they gave me by phone!
In the end it turn out MBNA voted in favour!!! Cant quite believe that!!! especially when until a week ago they insisted they hadnt had any paperwork from me or anything about my IVA proposal, and were trying to get me to settle and telling me to go bankcrupt. Clearly two different departments dealing with things at MBNA. Their internal communication is rubbish. I hope none of their rude, abusive and unhelpful call centre staff ever find themselves in a similar position to me. They really need some customr care training.

Brilliant news - so glad you have been approved.

Good luck for the future.

congratulations on being approved! Funny enough, an hour before my meeting I had MBNA on the phone giving me exactly the same tosh about not having paperwork etc regarding the IVA. Must say that although the pushiest call yet still nothing like some of the horror stories you hear about.

Thanks for the congratulations messages. I've been reading some of the posts for quite a while and it's been a comfort to hear people in similar situations. I feel as though a weight has been lifted from my shoulders :)

Hi O2B Free

As you will see from my previous posts I have had a lot of trouble from MBNA and 6 months into my IVA they still send me letters demanding repayment and I know they cannot touch me but it is still upseting. They are my only creditor who does this.
But anyway congratulations on acceptance it is a great feeling.
