I have a persistent creditor who currently phones upto 3 times a night demanding instant payment over the phone, I have explained in early stages of IVA and have given them details of IP and conatct Numbers, they say the cannot or is it will not contact the IP as i am the person with the credit agreement with them not the IP, The guy last time basically said dont blame me when the heavy boys turn up,, not to sure if that is the correct conduct for specialist organisations.. Just concerned now as not to sure if people are likely at the front door before my IVA proposal is even draw up, up till now have never missed any payments all be it that we have suffered in other areas to ensure ends meet...

Hi there can you tell us which creditor is pursuing you in this manner?

If they are making threats to you, you can report them to the Banking or Financial Ombudsman. Your IP will also have written to them as well, so there is really nothing to gain from this ongoing harrassment. How far away are you from having IVA proposals prepared?

This creditor is normally fairly insignificant in the great big scheme of things, so I would ignore this pressure if I were you, it is probably not meant!

Try and get your IP to speed up the process a little, and this will bring an end to unpleasant phone calls.

Sent some information off in the post on thursday to the IP as my partner is currently on maternity leave and the IP needed some info from us, so hopefully things will move on quite quickly now...

hi puffa i'm having the same problems with creation i've been keeping a log book of when they phone and what was said in case i report them to trasing standards, has over the past few months they've had me in floods of tears. so i developed a tougher skin and starded to be a stroppy cow with them so to say its worked wonders. got appointment with cab debt counsellor today to see what options i have and i just know creation will ring today. good mind to tell them im filing for bancruptcy just to see what they say ha ha ha!

They are one of our smallest creditors but are giving us more of a headache than any of the others, They are just so rude and agressive...

It's always the ones that you owe the least to that cause the problems! I owed Littlewoods £70 and they still contact me even though I am BR! Natwest, who I owed £27k to were no problem at all!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

I just unplugged the phone and then moved house, not telling anyone!

Nrock were the biggest pain to me, they started 8.30am in the morning, even on Sundays and then rang regularly up until about 9pm. I had a few beers one night and my husband kept telling me to ignore the phone but I gave ‘em a piece of my mind and slammed phone down on ‘em! Oops!

We unplugged it after that, as even the noise of it gave me a panic attack!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't mind, but I explained everything to them in the morning's first call and then they would ring again at about lunchtime and again at teatime, I just said to them "nothings changed since you last rang!!"

my advice is, unplug the phone!

I must admit, I've been a bit cowardly when it comes to phone calls!!! I had to temporarily move out of my house so they haven't been able to get hold of me - and I "forgot" to give them my new number!! Although Morgan Stanley have been a pain in the backside!! They kept phoning work so I asked them not to and gave them my mobile! What a mistake!!! Even though I explained what was happening they still phoned me about 10 times a day! Starting at 8am and the latest about 10pm! Even now when I've told them i'm BR they still phone!!!
