Synergi do not get good press on this forum. Not sure how many of our current posters are with them.
Are you in an IVA? If not, I would certainly look into another company before making a final decision.

I am not going to comment directly about this firm, however I would point out that if you are unhappy at this stage, this may be indicative of how the relationship may develop - and you do need to develop a good working relationship with your IP, as five years is a long time.
I am with Synergi and have just started our 4th year. They are I must say a bit slow in answering letters but by and large they leave me alone. I haven't had any personal contact with my IP if I do ring the call goes to a call centre and often the person I speak to can never answer my question or do the simplest thing like send a payment slip when I was changing bank accounts after asking 3 times I then received a letter saying I was in arrears! But as I can see the end of this experience I am hoping that I do not have to contact them and any contact from them is the next review due in November. I must also say I didn't choose Synergi I was put moved on to them from another company. If I knew what i know now I would have shopped around a bit but at the time I was just so relieved to get things sorted I didn't ask all the questions I should have done.
As the others have said if you haven't already signed up see what other companies can offer you.
Good luck
Jan
Nothing you can buy feels as good as not being in debt.
Hi, My experience is the same. I didn't start out with Synergi I was moved to them. Since then they have changed my supervisor twice and now I have joint supervisors for some reason. However so far my IVA has been smooth (40 months in) and they do tend to leave me alone which I prefer.

I took over a lot of the staff from the Cardiff office when it was sold on - and they are very good - in fact one of my my fellow IPs used to be with that firm. Have you noticed a bit change in client service since the changeover?
I have an IVA with Synergi since 2006 and fully understand the problems all of you have experienced. Althoug as a whole they leave me alone, Synergi do increase the IVA per year and take 50% of bonuses I may get a year and despite strugling each year, the cost rises,i am also lookign to move my IVA for the remiander of my term

That is a very hard thing to do I am afraid.
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.
I'm afraid Plasticdaft is right, it is not easy to move companies, it has to be done through the courts and is costly and I believe you would need a good reason.
The 50% uplift cause is a fact of life for most of us in IVA's these days, so Synergi are doing nothing different there.
At least you do get to keep 50%.
