we are also with synergi . we were in such a mess , if i remember rightly we went to debt counsellors ( or someone like that ...) and cringe paid them £1000 and they sent all our stuff to synergi or capital insolvency as they were then . it went from there . we entered iva nov 2005 . lots of ammendmants , like we can only have 2 missed payments before BR procedures ( we are not in arrers thou ) . like someone else mention our suoerviser was changed and we have also have 2 nominated ips , neither of whom are there to talk with, unless you get cross and demand as my husband did. i have to say they dont bother us either and everything seems to be ticking along which has suited us . however have spoken to them a bit more rcently, they were asking for wage slips that i couldnt find !! i idid eventually find them in an envelope returned to us from the as they had already had them !!! they asked for an extra £162 from the last i&e which i have increased payment by 40.50 a month for 4 months .they have said they will now be doing another review in may of this year , am guessing as we will becoming up to end of yr 4 this is the time to try a release equity . after reading on these forums the support some of ther ppl get im miffed im with synergi . they have in the past made me feel second class citizen cos we were in debt . however we are getting closer to the end , so lets just see how good they are , when we got no chance in relaasing all equity due to econmic climate . . on the flip side , they got us into the iva , i can sleep at night without worrying , im not being hassled , and the end is in sight and the whole thing has gone smoothly . the only thing synergi need to do is make the ips available to talk to the clients , or have some contact with them .

As you say the end is in sight so just grin and bear it and it will soon all be over and you will be debt free with more disposable income to spend on a few nice things. Good luck.

It is always disappointing as an Insolvency Practitioner to read things like this about one's fellow professionals - especially when I read that they will not talk to their clients when they are getting paid for supervising their case. We are not all perfect by any shake of the imagingation, but most of us try our best. Such a shame to read another poor post about this particular company.

Nevertheless, Melanie, these posters have managed to get well down the IVA road with minimal support and deserve great credit for doing so. Hope you all stick it out to the bitter end!!!

I am in an IVA with Synergy, and have had no issues at all with them, although I appreciate that I seem to be in the minority.
I havent had my monthly thresh-hold increased, and I always get someone knowledgeable to talk to when I have called. I guess ive just been lucky.

It's always nice to see new posters, and it's good to see that your IVA is running smoothly.

I guess it is pot luck with whom you speak to at the IVA company - although I agree with Melanie and it is sad that such critism is levelled at other professionals. We are all not perfect but we try and others should also.Maybe I'll get the MD of synegie to read some of the posts on this forum and that might improve things!

That would be a good idea.

Synergi don't very often get positive posts on here, it would be good if one of their IP's or staff could come on and post as a lot of other companies do.

I agree. If they actually realised how poor their reputation and service are they might actually do something about it.

Well I'm with them and things had been running very smoothly until they started writing to me telling me I'm in arrears when I haven't missed a payment. Which is very concerning.

I'm in my fifth year with Synergi - they haven't exactly set the world alight but have been ok - minimal contact but, like others, that's fine by me. When I've needed to call them they've been helpful & human. The only grumble I have is that, like the earlier post, they have a habit of writing to you telling you that you're in arears. I get this cos I get paid travel expenses which are added into my paypacket, but are actually just reimbursement for work travel, not added income. Every year Synergie tell me I've been naughty and not told them I've had extra income, and send me a 'please pay your arrears now' letter. I then write back and tell them it's my expenses, and about 3 months later they so 'ok'.

But TBH they've been fine.

When I check on my online Payplan account, it always says I am in arrears after the 1st of the month (which is when my payment goes out of the bank), and doesn't show as up to date until about 4 days later.

I had a panic the first time I saw that nasy word 'arrears'.
