Hi Keith, I'm not sure of the value of a car allowed but assuming it's not an Aston Martin or similar a reliable car that will last the duration of your IVA is vital and more so if you live in the country.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
No harm in speaking to a third IP to see if you prefer their answer! I I don't think there is a specific limit - it's more down to the individual IP and what they think creditors will accept given the justifications. One of our posters has a Mercedez and they offered an additional couple of payments in lieu of selling the car. There is always wiggle room. Good luck x
My car was worth around 8k Keith and I was allowed to keep it with no problems.
Hopefully one of the experts will be along to help later, but as BOL says it won't hurt to perhaps speak to another IP, the experts who post on here come highly recommended.

I am suprised that the IPs you have spoken to have given you any marker figures with regard to the car. I wonder if they are indeed experienced in the proposing of IVAs, where car values are rarely questioned by creditors so long as they are reasonable. Get a third opinion from an IP well versed in the management of IVA cases.
