Why not send them a quick reminder email? If they're only after a quick answer from your IP?
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

This is quite poor service and you should ring and demand to speak directly to the IP. You have kept him/her informed of everything and you have not been advised of what to do. Clearly the case manager cannot make a decision and this has to be made by the IP. Therefore you have to speak directly to the IP and do not be fobbed off.

I spoke to them some time last week, i dont want to be seen as a pest. But the cheque is now cleared in my bank account. I'm just waiting for an answer and its hard waiting so long. I would have thought my case officer could give me an instant answer, Surely they have had this kind of situation before?.

They should be able to answer the question or at least ask for whatever information they require to make that decision. It is not right to just ignore a client over something that to me is straightforward. If the case manager has any doubts it is easy to have a quick conversation with the IP for clarification and come back to you with the answer.

The other thing that concerns me is that the IVA only commenced in February and I assume you advised the IP firm at the time that the claim was pending. It should therefore have been addressed at this time and you should not be hanging on waiting for a decision. If your IP was not aware of the claim at the time the IVA was drafted he/she may need to look at the award notice but overall your situation is not uncommon.

Hi there Michael,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm afraid i didn't say anything in my IVA arrangement about my claim, and i wasn't asked by Payplan of any possible pending windfalls. I wasn't sure if i would win my claim, therefore i didn't think it was worth saying anything. But as you know, i informed them as soon as i heard from my solicitor that i was due the compensation. Even before i recieved the cheque through the post. i might hear something today?. Here's hoping i get an answer soon.

Thanks guys. I've phoned Payplans IP direct. I'm waiting for him to contact my case officer now. But why should i be doing all the chasing down myself?...Oh well, as long as i get an answer soon. I just hope my case office isn't going to take offence because ive gone direct to their company IP. :-)
