There are 6 of us so we try to save from our food allowance. We have made a major move to own brand products and preparing our food from fresh ingredients. We reckon doing this saves around £50 to £80 a month. My wife takes £50 and keeps it in a little money box in our bedroom. It’s our Christmas money. Our contingency money was wiped out in February (2 x tyres + major car repair) but we have built it up to £250 so I feel better now. [:)]
My thanks to Melanie and her team :)

I worry that every month we just seem to get by, but we seem to have had bad luck after bad luck, so the money we should save bails us out, now hubbys bike insurance is due and i am worried about shopping around in case they turn us down paying monthly. so again another months money has all gone. and as someone has mentioned christmas is in my mind. never mind at least i dont have people ringing me and the dread of the post man any more.

Yes Melanie double figures in months already!! Not a phone call and hardly a letter from my creditors, other than from Max Recovery, who appear to have bought most of our debt!

We definately eat healthier, and both myself and my wife are pretty hot in the kitchen now!
My thanks to Melanie and her team :)

we did have a bit in our contingency from when we stopped paying creditors for a month.. but this has dwindled with car tax, pet bills etc.. but hey ho.. we were saving a little from shopping budget each month but its getting less and less, with the rise in bills.. gas and electric have gone up about £20 between them so this has to be found, its like an ever decreasing circle! Hubby had a little overtime so this needs to be put away for daughters birthday after, if, any due to creditors. We'll have to wait to see how much he gets[:)]
Ang.. 13 payments in.. WOW, thats over 20% paid!! http://angela18.blogs.iva.co.uk/ well here we go

if you wish for a rainbow... then you have to put up with the rain xx

Even though I've had a bad start to my IVA and only got £30 put by, I keep smiling and cut back on whatever I can. This week I'm not going shopping just so I can go to the caravan in Heacham (MIL's). I'll buy my food there from the local Tesco and have enough in the freezer till Monday (hopefully) before we go.

Once my arrears are paid which I'm paying back at £60 @ month, I feel that money will make life in an IVA easier. Won't be long x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

We are having a month where I dont buy any freezer food an d we live out of the freezer, clears the freezer for a defrost and uses all the stuff you let build up. By the end we will be jhaving one of those meals with one fishfinger a beefburger and an assortment of chips from the nearly finished packs. A sort of frugal mixed gril. lol
