Last year, I shopped around for insurance for my small mongrel dog Lloyd, and found excellent cover for £8 per month. Great!

We have made no claims during this time, and I have just had the renewal through. He is still only 3 years old, so still a youngster, and the premium has more than DOUBLED! It's £16.11 per month for the next year!

I don't think so! I shall be shopping around as I know there is cheaper out there. Even Petplan quoted me £13 a month for him.

Thank god my car insurance doesn't double every year!

My mum had this problem with her pet insurance. In the end she decided to stay with the same company (and they were very good when she had to claim this year) but it's disgraceful the way they put pet insurance up.

I've got Harry insured with Petplan and I'll be interested to see how much it goes up by next year!

I just can't believe how much it has gone up! I wouldn't have minded a pound or two, but I think that is ridiculous, and I will be phoning them and telling them as well.

My George is with Petplan and it has only gone up this time by £1 per month, I was quite pleased with that ! considering I claimed the £200 reward money back when he went missing and they paid out no problem

That's good Jane. I'm paying £11.70 a month for Harry at the moment, but it's worth it as I wanted whole of life cover for him.

I think George is about £9 per month and Poppy is £10.80ish, we got George first and he is 4, Poppy has just turned 3, but she cost more to buy so her insurance is more expensive (thats what Petplan told me!)[:D]

i'm paying £14.67 with Halifax.[:0] Because Nia is over 8 years old the insurance is apparently more expensive. That, or I got ripped off!

Hmmm, Harry seems quite expensive at £11.70 for a 3 year old cat!

Be careful switching pet insurance.
If your animal has any pre existing conditions a new insurance company won't cover them.
I don't think you can beat petplan as there is no limit to the amount of times you can claim for a condition.
As I have an asthmatic cat this is invaluable.
When it comes to pet insurance cheaper is not always better.
So your research or you might regret it when you come to claim

I'm planning on sticking with Petplan as I've only ever heard good things about them.
