He is three times (perhaps a little more) the size now - eating us out of house and home. Pleased you like him.

Will do Jan - I'll wait until the weather gets better when he can go outside for longer than 5 mins! Vet's orders!

He is going back to the hospital on Wednesday for another lumber puncture to check on him but he seems to be doing very well - barks at everything - so that is a good sign.

Thank you asking - he saw the specialist Vet at the hospital last week - going well - he is still on 50mg steroids per day until Wednesday when they are reduced to 25mg per day in addition he then has to have 25mg per day of another dug which I cannot spell or pronounce! He goes back to the hospital a week after that for another lumbar puncture and CAT scan to see if his spinal fluid is running clear. If that is ok he will then be on a maintenance dose of steroids for a few months - but so far so good. He sees his normal Vet every week for heart checks as the steroids can affect the heart- but this has not happened so far. All I can say is thank goodness Melanie allowed good insurance - the cost so far is a little over £4,000 which the insurance have paid without a quibble - he has life time cover for each and every illness he contracts - hopefully he will not contract anymore.

I am so glad he is improving Max. Long may it continue until he reaches full health again.

I do agree that pet insurance is excellent, would not have a dog without it!

I wish all IPs would allow pet insurance - one of the companies I consulted at he beginning told me that I must be joking wanting insurance for "just a pet animal" - their words not mine.
