we've had some sadness on the forum of late with me losing my beloved chocolate lab last October and Julie a dear friend losing her Dobby this week.

However, I've taken the plunge and on Monday will meet my potential new lads, yes that is plural. I'm going to meet two labs, a chocolate and a black. They are 4 years old and are very close so I can't split them up. I don't have the full background story as yet but will update my friend recommended me and after a lengthy chat with the foster carer it would appear we may be ok as the new owners.

Suffice to say I'm excited but anxious. Last week at Crufts made my mind up that we needed someone new in our life, we didn't look for these, it's just happened and Tuesday would have been Biscuit's birthday so I think he may have played a part in this too.

I know how big a hole is left after the loss of a pooch. Fingers crossed things go to plan.

Thank you Paul. Looking forward to it and looking forward to bonding over training as I do lots of that and have missed that. Not sure how I'll cope with two but we'll give it a go.

I've just the pics on FB Lesley, gorgeous! I can't see you being able to say no once you've met them.

I know the heartache you went through with losing biscuit, but your family has so much love to give and these dogs will reward you no end.

We're still in denial over losing Dobby, I'm talking to his photos and even pulled the duvet for him last night! In time we will have another dog as our lives are incomplete without a lovely four legged friend.

Good luck and keep us updated x

Thank you for your support Julie.

So long as they're not too unruly I'll be bringing them home as I pride myself on my training ability (met Victoria Stilwell last week).
It's a passion of mine and now I sound really big headed so I'll shut up!

But hoping to be bonding over training very soon. Hubby has promised to come with me as never trained two though!

Not big headed at all, you are a good trainer and I can't see you having any problems with 2 dogs.

Might be a handful there Julie, been looking at split leads today up town.

Biscuit was near perfect bless him, didn't need a lead in the end and to think when I first got him I had to take him to a behaviourist as I was lost on him, bless him, he soon come around to my way of thinking. x

Well you've just proved my point, you got Biscuit around to your way of thinking, so these 2 maybe a challenge, but one you will overcome. Is hubby excited?

Hubby is so excited, to the point he's rewiring the bathroom and putting in some isolation switch for a fan or something. A job that he's been putting off for ages and I told him to get his jobs up to date as next few weekends will be busy.

I really hope it works out. What are the dogs called? Mrs plasticdaft was asking last night when I showed her the fb pics.

Haha we almost called Taz Bournville after the dark chocolate! !!

Couldn't ever imagine shouting that in the woods/park when out on walkies! !!

I first got into dog training when at secondary school as I was allowed a dog so long as I trained it. My first dog when I was 13 was a border collie called 'Nigger'. Oh my I would be arrested now shouting that in a field!

I'm sure we'll name them as in nicknames as I'm not keen on the names and hubby is guessing that Mars is the black and Twix is the chocolate lab but again not sure until tomorrow!

Fantastic stuff. I know they aren't pups but are they related?

When I go for the interview tomorrow I'm thinking all these things will be told to me. At present the Foster Carer only tells you the basics and sees if you're interested, we are an initial match but still got to get through tomorrow. Dogs will be health checked and I will be house checked which shouldn't be a problem. Not even sure of their exact ages at present.

I'm going to receive some more pics tomorrow so looking forward to that, I'll post them on FB as soon as I do.
