I wouldn't be able to eat fish like that either. I had a friend who couldn't walk past the fish counter in the supermarket!

We went out for a meal once and our friend had whitebait, which is lots of little fishes which are eaten whole. Yuk!

My middle sister has an irrational fear of being abducted by aliens, she rang me once to tell me she was sure she had seen a UFO when driving back home from visiting me (didnt tell her that i saw it earlier and it was a BLIMP) [:D]

when we go camping i sleep with earplugs in!! can't take the risk, can imagine them eating my brain and then coming out of my nose and mouth!!

Ughh!! (hubby thinks they may already have been at my brain, me thinks)

Mine is Wasps - I am absolutely terrified of them, and can often be seen in the summer running round like a loon, with a 'pack' of them chasing me!!!
Like Viki said, they are evil - I'm sure they are sent on this earth to terrify me - I tell you they do their job well.
Unfortunately it has rubbed off on my little girl, and because of the way i act if one comes within 100 miles of me, she too is terrified of anything small that flies!!!
i hate to tell all those that are frightened of wasps, that I today saw my first one of the year - only bl**dy 23rd of April - god they ruin my whole summer, and i keep thinking of trying hypnotherapy to cure me.
I too hate spiders - not sure who it was that said about the giant one on the hedboard, but that made me shudder, the very thought of it. Oncve Sep comes around i spend most evenings scouring the place for those that start to come in the house to keep warm - pesky damned things!!!
Great thread by the way.

not sure what the common factor is of why so many people scared of spiders? I think that it is the way their legs all move at different times to each other (there so b****y many of them after all) also think that the fact they seem to go in any direction without warning is kinda freaky too. also why is it that they wait until you've actually spotted them, they then decide to run at full pelt (legs everywhere) usually in your direction [;)]

A friend of mine was telling me about the Camel spider - apparently it detects movement, so if you stand very still then it won't come towards you...however if you act like most of us that are sh*t scared of the blighters, then it heads towards you...then you panic even more and start running etc, and it just carries on chasing you.
They are about the size of a mans fist......eeeew doesn't bare thinking about.
Luckily down here in the South, we don't get too many camels and their friendly spiders!!!!
