Hi
Just wondered how people deal with THOSE calls!. Got home from work tonight, and there were 15 calls.Do you answer or ignore them? Any advice would be appreciated.

hi chezzy

most of the time i answered them, but some times i would ignore them, it really depended how strong i felt on the day, but no matter which way you play it i really dont think it will make the slightest bit of difference to the outcome of your iva proposal being accepted!

try to keep yer chin up hun, soon this will be behind you!

It's really up to you Chezzy. I ignored them but have started to answer them again now. When I explain the situation they say they'll put the calls on hold for 10 to 14 days so at least you get a rest for a while. If you don't want to, it won't make any difference. X

Hi
Answer them and simply state that you are taking professional advice regarding a possible IVA and will be making no payments.
Stand firm but be polite

At the moment it looks like we cannot do an IVA due to the equity in the house. So we are looking at doing a DMP instead. Unfortunatly this means many years instead of 6.May put the house on the market, but there is not enough equity to settle our debts. We have another estate agent coming tomorrow so will take things from there.I just want to get something in place so that we can get on with our lives

not the right time to be selling your house in the current market, but if you do have to, then maybe the IVA can be a posibility for you.

Whatever happens we will support you all the way on this site!

Remember that at any time you can end the call by putting the phone down. Never be tempted to pay anyone money that you know you dont have.
You can be polite if they are polite but if they get forceful on you, just say I am hanging up now because I do not like your threatening manner and shall be reporting this incident to your supervisor.

I must admit that we never answered any of them. It did help that we have a seperate line with BT total broadband, and so could unplug the other phone.

If you do answer them, be aware that there are a lot of bullies out there on the other end who will do their utmost to get you to make a payment to them.

Don't let them talk you into anything, and don't let them get you down.

You could always try changing your number if it gets too much.
