Well my little man has a bandage on ( more like a plaster) for another 2 weeks. They think his growth plate has not knitted properly. Xrays are being sent to a specialist and we'll know on Friday. If this is the case they can operate but not until he's fully grown! In the meantime he may have a limp.

The hairloss is caused by demodectic mange...brought on by stress as his immune system is so low. We have treatment for that so it should clear up within 6 weeks.

AR - Dobby is a doberman and we're in South Wales...thank you [;)]

Lily...I have no probs with you posting on this thread, we're all here for each other.I have psoted on your thread.

Thanks again for your concern....I'm going to snuggle down on the sofa with my baby [:)]

Thanks H....yep he's been spoilt tonight, feel so guilty for having left him there all day on his own. He went nuts when hubby went to collect him, so at least he still loves us [:)]

Luckily we have insurance...we still have free insurance from when we bought him, it expires next week so will have to renew with them. Thats a pain because they're more expensive than others, but I don't thnk we can insure him with anyone else and claim for this because its a pre existing problem? Never mind he's worth a zillion trillion pounds to me and more [:)]

Human children can have that problem Julie, its called Severs, the growth plate grows unevenly can sort itself out. I hope so in your case. ~good luck with the healing AR.

I wouldnt normally ask but am desperate, if you can find anything in your kit for my precious Cole I would be grateful. He is a black and white cat left on my doorstep from birth, I bottle fed him. I live in Kenilworth area. He is almost 2 years old. He has a chest injury needing surgery.

Dobby is sleeping on the sofa as we speak...snoring his head off!! Its hubby's birthday today and normally we'd go out /do something, but neither of us wanted to leave Dobby!

Had to bath Dobby in this lotion for his hairloss earlier, poor thing looked terrified and just stood there letting us do what we liked. They're so trusting eh?

Well his bandage got wet, despite all our efforts and 2 plastic bags as a cover..so hope it doesn't cause any damage or it'll be another visit to the vets.

I had to bath my little long haired tiny kitten Charley as she got something sticky on her fur, I warmed up a towel and stuck the dryer under it was it constantly warmed her up, she dried in no time, as long as you keep the vent of the dryer uncovered... you could try it, problem is if the bandage stays wet there it will go smelly and horrible, it also harbour bacteria, though there is no cut on her skin, it would increase the skins bacterial load.
