Good news...the bandage is off and the vet couldn't say why Dobby was limping. A little actor me thinks [:D]

I've had a sad few days and would like to thank my special forum friendsfor the kind words....you know who you are and it really makes a difference.

I'm still not 100%....not even 50...but I find it better to focus on others so hopefully I'll be back to posting.

Thanks everyone [:X]xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I'm so glad Dobby is ok Julie - they are a worry aren't they?

My thoughts are with you and hope you are 100% soon.

An update on Dobby - Vet phoned last night and said there may be a slight fracture in his paw but he's not sure. Funny that as Dobby has been walking fine on it.

His skin is improving with each application...he's still bald in parts but looking better.

Dobby is such a character though, he "apparently" hurt his back leg yesterday...one minute he was in the garden with me fine and then he decided to yelp. Absolutely nothing or anyone around him? I went and picked him up and he was fine...the cats came into the garden and he chased them fine....yet when hubby came home, he decided to limp and yelp. We've been watching him and he actually limps on different legs! The cats are running rings around him [:D]

I never knew dogs could be such actors and go for the sympathy vote....neither did I knew they smell so much! [:D]

I just love him Julie! They can be such drama queens can't they?

Did the vet say if there was anything they could do about his leg, and why they didn't pick it up in the first place?

No Jan, Vet actually said he spoke to a specialist and both are still not sure if it is a fracture. If we're happy with it, then no more treatment neccessary! 6 xrays and £350 later, now they tell us.

I don't regret taking him to the vet as I'd rather be safe than sorry. Hubby says I mollycoddle Dobby...especially as I wasn't fussed on having him in the first place. Just because I've bought him his own sofa [:I]

I couldn't imagine my life without Dobby and the cats......oh and hubby [:D]

I totally agree that it should be the vet every time for anything like this. Better to be safe than sorry.

Is he insured? You should be able to get some of your money back if he is.

He is so adorable, who could not mollycoddle him?

I love the fact that you have bought him a sofa - be interesting to see if he uses it!

Thankfully we are insured Jan...so will get fees less the excess back. Still, it hurt the purse strings to pay that out...but what do you do?

He better use the sofa! He waits until I or hubby moves and literally jumps into our place! I'll use the sofa if he doesn't [:D]

I have a photo of him all wrapped up on the sofa under a blanket...I'll post it on FB.

Please tell me I'm not alone in spoiling pets [;)]

So glad you are insured - it is a pain to have to pay it out in the first place! We've had to do that several times with several pets.

I look forward to seeing the picture.

Our dogs are waaay more spoiled than Dobby! Both sleep on the bed, and in the middle of the night Lloyd usually manages to find his way under the clothes and either snuggles up against my legs, or stretches out with his head between our pillows. Suzie is pretty good, she just lies there and doesn't move.

We buy scratchings for them every week from our local butcher as well, and they both have loads of pressies at Christmas!

No - they're not spoilt!
