Hi All, great forum,
I’m hoping for some much needed advice please…
I entered an IVA in July 2005 and managed to complete it by a F&F settlement in July 2008.
Now that 6 years have passed I am starting try and fix my Credit Files with the 3 main agencies.
Credit Expert, is now completely up to date and nothing is showing in relation to the IVA or past debt.
Call Credit, the IVA is gone but CAHOOT are still showing up, the account is saying it is settled but should this now be gone completely?
Equifax, this is the one that is concerning me as in the “Notice of Correction” section there is a note which says...
“IVA DATED 19/07/2005 WAS REMOVED FROM THE INSOLVENCY SERVICE RECORDS ON 22/07/2008. ADDED BY IVABKYLD ON 22/07/2008”
Anyone know what this means?
Also CAHOOT and MBNA are still showing up as past debt.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Good luck to all of you on your journeys, it may seem a struggle at times, but it is well worth it in the end.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Well done on finishing your IVA by way of F&F settlement. We do have posters who are very knowledgeable in respect of credit reference agencies and I'm sure someone will be along very soon to give great advice so I'll keep this bumped up. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

You can ask equifax to remove the notice of correction. Just look on their website for info.

In terns of Equifax, it is a notice of correction and they tend to hang around long after the IVA is gone from the file. For this reason you really don't want them on your credit file relating to your IVA. Ask them to delete the notice of correction.
With regards to cahoot, If the account is marked as settled, and the account does not show as a default this will be ok and will be positive data on your file. It is only if the account is showing as default do you need to be concerned.
If cahoot and mbna are showing up past debt, i.e. defaults after the IVA agreed date, and it has been longer than 6 years from the start of your IVA, you'll need to contact the creditors to ask them to remove the defaults from your credit file.
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.

Meant to add that its maybe worth waiting another 4-6 weeks to see if the files correct themselves as things should only have dropped off in the last few weeks.
