Please be careful! My dad bought me vouchers 2 yrs ago & the company went out of business, also dont forget the Farepack hamper company that went bust leaving thousands of people with no Christmas hampers or refund. Once you have paid in the money if the company go bust you have little or no chance of getting it back. I don't know if this scheme is actually run by the post office itself or a company operating through the post office. Supermarket savings stamps sound like a better idea to me - I dont think any of them are likely to go under by next Xmas !

I think the PO Club was backed by a bank (Bank of Ireland rings a bell), so fingers crossed that should be OK.

I suppose for those people who can trust themselves not to use it in other ways, a separate savings account would suffice (I am not one of those people though! If I have the money I like to spend it.)

ellie, I think the Post Office & Bank of Ireland are different propositions than something like Farepack! Remember the Post Office is owned by Royal Mail Group which is underwritten by the Government!
