Hi all.
We have completed our IVA and have our certificate and all debts are cleared.
However, in the case of my wife we received a letter from a catalogue company and it seems back in the late 90’s she was paying PPI to the company. Something we all overlooked.
She has been awarded £6000 which is great news. However, in the letter it states that we are in an IVA and all money will be forwarded to Creditfix although the IVA has been completed for over 5 months. Can they do this to us?

We have been without heating in our house for 8 months. This could sort it!!

Unfortunately PPI is an asset due to your creditors even though you have completed.

As recently confirmed after a long court process the PPI belongs to the IVA even after completion. Some IP's will return it to you, in full or in part, others will distribute it to former creditors.

So I have no option but to sit back and take it?

This is just grotesquely unfair. We have had no heating for 8 months and they are just "allowed" to take every penny for an undisclosed period?

You need to chat with Credfitfix -- some firms allow you to retain the interest element, but this is purely discretionary.

My apologies. I will at least pass on my thanks to you guys.
As you can appreciate this is incredibly upsetting for us, and yes we are calling creditfix on Monday.

Truely heartbreaking, especially after 6 years of really hard work. It feels like we are being punished when all we have done is be honest and never missed a payment :-(

I can understand how you feel but most of us are, or have been, going through it especially as the deadline is approaching.

Well that made me feel better. LOL!!!!

But yeah it's bloody heartbreaking. ESPECIALLY as we had no idea she was entitled to it and the company, in this case littlewoods told us.
The irony is, my wife worked for Index (littlewoods) and they made her pick up 25kg boxes which eventually seriously hurt her back which she has had to live with since. So, she tried to claim on her PPI. They said no, yanno why? Because she was not the main earner. So she was paying PPI and they KNEW she could never claim on it.

This world really sucks for people who are naive when it comes to finance. Wow have I ever learnt since then.
