I have a shocking memory and apart from one creditor who I know mis-sold PPI, I have no idea whether I had any or not let alone how it was sold. So I sent my letters of authority with a caveat that I did not remember but was happy for the claims co to investigate the possibility of a claim. I also annotated any section that made a positive statement about me being mis-sold PPI.
